Kerala Homes and Architectural Styles of Olden Days

A typical Kerala Home has a simple yet stunning architectural style which is similar to the Far Eastern Temple styles of Japan, China, Cambodia etc. The walls are made of semi wire cut bricks or lateral stone and plastered or painted. The roof is in clay tiles and the front facade is a carved wooden structure. There are open sit outs or verandah or even wooden benches incorporated on raised platforms in the verandah.
