Kerala Dry Fish

Kerala with a vast seaside is home to a huge variety of seafood and hence dry fish is very popular dish in Kerala households. Prawns, Sardines, shark, Mackeral, Anchovy etc are available. Even fresh water fish is dried and used in Kerala homes. Small river fish and large Varaal type fish is split open, salted and dried in summer to use in the rainy season.
