Athirathram the Sacred Vedic Hindu Ritual

The sacred vedic Hindu ritual called Athirathram is performed in Panjal, near Thrissur in Kerala. The Brahmin priests perform the Yaga on specially designed altar with thousands of devotees in presence. The fire for the yaga is lit from a special instrument on the venue and the ritual ends with the yagasala burnt with the same fire.
